Dr. Nobué Nobematsu, DAOM, L.Ac is a California Licensed acupuncturist and herbalist based in the Bay Area with over a decade of experience. In her practice, Dr. Nobematsu maintains the core value of Traditional Chinese Medicine by treating the body as a whole. She applies ancient methodologies with a modern perspective and lifestyle consultation to empower the body's natural healing capacity.Dr. Nobematsu holds a Masters of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from ACTCM San Francisco and a Doctorate in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine from Five Branches University, San Jose. She has been trained in diverse clinical settings, challenging cases, and was a regular volunteer acupuncturist at the San Francisco Haight-Ashbury Free Clinic.With a decade of experience as the Senior Clinical Practitioner at Shen Clinic, Albany, Dr. Nobematsu has taught the Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MSTCM) program at Academy of Chinese Culture & Health Sciences (ACCHS), Oakland, and is now the Director of Clinical Education for both Masters and Doctorate programs at Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine College (AIMC) in Berkeley.Dr. Nobematsu currently maintains a private practice and is also a provider for the Sandra J. Wing Healing Therapies Foundation for Cancer Patients.

Pediatric Acupuncture can be applied as early as an infant. Needles are inserted into acupuncture points and then quickly removed from the child, not retained in the body as they are for adults. Children are very responsive to this therapy, not only as a preventative measure and for the maintenance of good health, but also for most acute conditions such as common cold, fever, infections, allergies, headaches, in addition to a variety of chronic conditions such as: asthma, eczema, digestive issues and weakened immune systems.

Pediatric TuiNa was developed specifically for children from birth to twelve years. Historically, it has been a regular practice in hospitals in China for treating early illnesses as well as to ensure proper child development. TuiNa is a therapeutic massage that relaxes muscles and tissue to promote the flow of energy throughout the body to restore its balance. It is most effective for musculoskeletal problems, such as sports injury, neck pain, shoulder tension, lower back pain, numbness and tingling sensation in the limbs. It is also beneficial for relieving headaches, stress, anxiety, depression, and insomnia.Unlike many modern drug-based treatments, TuiNa is completely holistic. Its techniques range from light stroking to deep-tissue work. It includes the use of specific hand movements to massage soft tissues (muscles and tendons), as well as stretching, acupressure, and other methods to realign musculoskeletal relationships, relax muscle spasms, mobilize joints, and reduce inflammation.
